How to achieve your dance goals over the summer break
Summer break or indeed any break you have in the year, is the perfect time to set to work achieving your dance goals. When you have a big chunk of time away from your normal routine, it is much easier to dedicate a certain amount of time each day to achieving your dance goals. Longer breaks are particularly great for achieving flexibility and strength goals. However, if you’ve ever tried to stick two something on a regular basis, you will know that without the proper motivation and sense of accountability trying to achieve your dance goals can be a real challenge.

Research shows that in order to have the best chance to achieve you dance goals, these goals have to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Based. (SMART). This worksheet helps to scaffold the goal setting process by making sure that the goal you set about to achieve meets all of these requirements. This worksheet encourages dancers to break down their goal and define it so that they know exactly what they want to achieve, why they want to achieve it, when they can achieve it by and exactly how they can achieve their dance goal. It helps define exact which steps they need to take.
